DID YOU KNOW: Safe Driving Day

/ 05:00 AM May 14, 2018

Safe Driving Day is observed every second Monday of May by virtue of Proclamation No. 28 signed on April 23, 1966, by then President Ferdinand Marcos.

According to the proclamation, safe driving habits and the strict enforcement of traffic and motor vehicle laws can reduce unnecessary loss of lives and property resulting from traffic accidents every year.

According to the Road Crash Statistics Report of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s Metro Manila Accident Recording and Analysis System, there were 110,025 road crashes in Metro Manila in 2017. —Marielle Medina
