Man with US army-issued guns nabbed in Sorsogon

LEGAZPI CITY—A man was arrested by police after he was found carrying guns and bullets issued by the US Army on Friday  in Sorsogon City, Sorsogon province.

The suspect Jerry Enteria, 47, resident of Irosin town in Sorsogon, allegedly caused alarm among the residents in Barangay (village) Bibincahan around 12 a.m., reports reaching Bicol police said.

Responding policemen who arrested Enteria recovered from his possession a loaded M11911A1 US Army-issued pistol, a USA 45 auto bullets, four 45 auto bullets, and two 45 auto fired cartridge cases.

Information on how the suspect came to possess the pistol and ammunition is not yet available.

Police are preparing cases against Enteria for violations of Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines. Roma Joy Padre, Inquirer Intern / jpv
