LOOK: SC employees wear red at Mass ahead of ouster decision
Wearing red shirts, Supreme Court (SC) employees in favor of the granting of quo warranto against embattled Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno held Mass on Friday to pray for the institution and enlightenment.
Employees held the Mass as the SC en banc held a special session to tackle the controversial quo warranto petition against Sereno.
Most of the employees wore red as a sign of support to the ruling in favor of the Solicitor General’s plea to unseat the country’s top magistrate because of her failure to submit a complete set of Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) before assuming her position.
SALNs are one of the main requirements of the Judicial and Bar Council, which screens applicants to the judiciary.
Sereno, who remains in high spirit ahead of the decision, will preside over the en banc proceedings but will recuse herself from the deliberations. /muf
