Magnitude 3 quake hits off Surigao del Sur

A magnitude 3 earthquake struck  115 kilometers northeast of the shoreline of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday.

The 33-kilometer deep earthquake was of tectonic origin, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.

No aftershocks and no damages were expected.
