The graduating college student who went missing for four days has been found safely in Quezon City, his mother said Friday.
Ben Villanueva, 24-year-old business administration student of Kalayaan College, was found along EDSA Santolan by a search team around 2 a.m. on Friday, his mother Lani said.
She said her family had received information from netizens that he was seen in parts of Cubao and Ortigas on Wednesday and Thursday.
“May ilang reports kami na tama naman so pinupuntahan talaga namin kaagad kasi may inorganize kami na search parties. Pinuntahan nila kagabi yung Robinson’s Galleria na waiting shed, wala na siya doon,” Lani said in a telephone interview with INQUIRER.net.
(We had received few reports that correspond with the description so we go there right away because we have organized search parties. They went to Robinson’s Galleria waiting shed, he’s no longer there.)
“Pero yun pala he decided to walk towards Cubao. May Cubao na search party kami, nasalubong na siya,” she added.
(But then apparently he decided to walk towards Cubao and our Cubao search party found him.)
While she did not know yet what exactly happened during his disappearance, Lani said Ben is safe and undergoing a medical check.
Lani thanked everyone who helped their family find Ben, including private citizens, the police and other government agencies.
“Napakalaking utang na loob po talaga yon sa mga kaibigan at kaibigan ng mga kaibigan ko,” she said.
(We owe it all to our friends and the friends of our friends in finding Ben.)
