Dealers warn of vegetable shortage following Benguet hailstorms

After the series of hailstorms that damaged P5.4 million worth of vegetables in Benguet, dealers from the La Trinidad Trading Post have warned of a possible shortage in vegetable supply by June, a Radyo Inquirer report said on Tuesday.

The report quoted Agosta Balanoy, spokesperson of  La Trinidad Trading Post’s Liga ng mga Asosasyon, as saying that the hailstorm’s effect cannot be felt as of now because of a sufficient supply.

However as most of the affected vegetables were allotted for the next month, Balanoy  said  she expects supplies to go down.

Aside from the towns of Atok, Buguias, and Kibungan in Benguet, Bauko in the Mountain Province was also affected by hailstorms, the report said   /muf
