Alleged thief, who attacked call center agent, shot dead in Laguna
SAN PEDRO CITY – One of the two suspected thieves who held up a call center agent in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna province was shot dead by the police on Friday.
The police have not yet identified the slain man, who reportedly held up Marvin Diongco, 32, a call center employee in the city.
A report from the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (CALABARZON) police, said Diongco was on his way home from work when two men on a motorcycle stopped by and took his cellphone at gunpoint around 4 a.m. in Barangay (village) Tagapo.
Diongco sought help from the authorities who immediately conducted a follow-up operation.
The police chanced upon the suspects, but they fired shots at the policemen.
One of them was killed when the police retaliated, while the other one escaped on the motorcycle towards the adjacent city of Biñan.
