Mandaluyong cops nab 3 in anti-drug ops

Operatives of the Mandaluyong Police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) on Wednesday arrested three suspected drug personalities following an anti-drugs operation in the city.

Authorities identified the arrested suspects as Rowel Parantinad, Paul Art Dizon and Jomel Leocadio during a buy-bust operation at Sugui Compound, Barangay Hagdan Bato Itaas in Mandaluyong City.

Police agents were able to recover the marked money worth P200 from Parantinad.

Police added that during the operation, Dizon and Leocadio were caught in the act of sniffing suspected shabu.  Four plastic sachets containing shabu-like crystals and other drug paraphernalia were found in their possession.

The suspects went through inquest proceedings, and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /jpv
