DID YOU KNOW: DBM was created in 1936

The Budget Commission, the predecessor of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), was created through Executive Order No. 25 signed on April 25, 1936 by then President Manuel Quezon.

Through the Revised Administrative Code of 1987, the commission became the DBM. Since its conversion into a department, it has had nine secretaries.

Its main office is located on Gen. Solano Street in San Miguel, Manila. —Marielle Medina
