Laurio of Pinoy Ako Blog wants Gadon disbarred for ignorance of law

/ 03:08 PM April 24, 2018

A fourth disbarment complaint has been filed by blogger Jover Laurio of Pinoy Ako Blog against lawyer Larry Gadon for gross ignorance of the law and grossly immoral conduct.

In the complaint, Gadon allegedly violated his oath as a lawyer and the Code of Professional Responsibility when he filed “a baseless and unactionable criminal complaint” against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

The complaint referred to the graft complaint filed by Gadon last January at the Department of Justice (DOJ) against Sereno for the alleged non-submission of her statements of assets, liabilities and networth (SALN).

“When Gadon filed a criminal complaint against Chief Justice Sereno in the DOJ with a prayer or relief for her removal…He showed disrespect for the Constitution and displayed gross ignorance of basic law,” the complaint stated.

Complainants Laurio as well as a certain Aunell Ross Angcos also accused Gadon of grossly immoral conduct when he hurled invectives and flipped the dirty finger at Sereno’s supporters last April 10 in front of the Supreme Court Baguio.

“Gadon’s acts…and raising the dirty finger without provocation against peaceful protesters are conduct unbecoming of a lawyer and grossly immoral conduct,” the complaint stated.

Citing the case of Villanueva vs. People of the Philippines, complainants said the High Court previously ruled that “putang ina mo” (your mother is a whore) constituted slight oral defamation and pointing a dirty finger constituted simple slander by deed.”

“Because Gadon’s actions are criminal in nature, his actions would constitute grossly immoral conduct. The Supreme Court has stated that for a lawyer’s conduct to be grossly immoral, it must be so corrupt as to constitute a criminal act,” read the complaint.

Laurio and Angcos were both in Baguio City last April 10 when Gadon tangled with supporters of Sereno during the oral argument.

When reached for comment, Gadon called the complainants “crazy.”
