LUCENA CITY – A group of fishermen from the island town of Perez in Quezon province, turned over on Monday a plastic container filled with 16.5 liters of white liquid used for the production of cocaine.

Chief Insp. Marcelito Platino, Quezon police public information officer, said in a report that fishermen Jayner Tisou, Michael Sekreto, Joven Mendez and Virgilio Yanilla brought the container to the Perez police station around 7 p.m. on Monday.

The fishermen said they found the container Sunday morning in the waters off Calauag island.

Chemical analysis conducted by the Quezon police laboratory in Camp Nakar, confirmed that the liquid was a key ingredient in the production of the illegal and addictive substance and could produce about 13 kilos of high grade cocaine worth P130 million in the street market.
