Actor Julio Diaz arrested in Meycauayan drug buy-bust

Movie and television actor Julio Diaz was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Meycauayan City, Bulacan on Friday morning.

Diaz, who is Mariano De Leon in real life, was arrested by members of the Meycauayan City Police in Barangay Langka at around 12:40 a.m., Bulacan Police Provincial Office chief Sr. Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr. said in a statement.

Diaz, 59, was arrested together with Ronald Gomez alias Robin after selling a piece of plastic sachet containing suspected crystal meth or shabu worth P500 to an undercover policeman.

The police seized four pieces of plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 12 grams and worth P60,000.00, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the buy bust money.

Diaz was listed as a high value target by the Bulacan provincial police, Caramat said.

The suspects and the seized evidence were brought to the Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for examination while criminal complaints against Diaz and Gomez are now being readied for filing in court, Caramat added.    /muf
