8 nabbed in drug den raid near Valenzuela school

A raid on a Valenzuela City home allegedly used a drug den led to the arrest of a 59-year-old man, his two sons, and his brother, along with four other suspects on Tuesday.

Found inside the house were 41 sachets of “shabu” (crystal meth) with an estimated street value of P250,000, according to Chief Insp. Jowilouie Bilaro of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Valenzuela City Police Station.

An antinarcotics team stormed the house on R. Valenzuela Street, Barangay Marulas — just across the street from Valenzuela National High School — after securing a search warrant from Valenzuela Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Nena Santos.

Arrested were Rafael Camua Sr., his sons Rafael and Jerome, his brother Romerico; college students Jarvis Campbell Go, Joseph Cabudol, Jack Daniel Henson; and Ruby Cruz.

Bilaro said the drug den was run by Camua Sr. and his eldest, Rafael.

The three arrested students, who are in their early 20s, denied being involved in drugs, claiming they were just visiting Jerome, 19, when the police arrived. —Krixia Subingsubing
