Today, April 19, is the 149th birth anniversary of jurist Gregorio Araneta.

Serving as secretary of the Malolos Congress and Emilio Aguinaldo’s justice secretary, he died in 1930.

The Araneta Institute of Agriculture, later called Gregorio Araneta University Foundation. was named in his honor. —Marielle Medina
