Maynilad: Water service interruptions for entire summer possible

/ 09:50 PM April 17, 2018

Water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. warned on Tuesday that some its consumers could possibly suffer water service interruptions through the dry season as allocation issues still remained unsettled.

According to a post on its official Twitter account, Mayniad gets raw water that is less than minimum required every day.

“As of April 16, Maynilad’s La Mesa Treatment Plants only receive an average of 2,305 million liters per day (MLD) of raw water,” Maynilad’s post said. “Maynilad needs to get a minimum of 2,360 MLD of raw water so it can maintain the level of stored water in its Bagbag Reservoir and prevent service levels to be affected.”

Maynilad blamed its service interruptions on dwindling allocations, stating that it had been receiving less than the 60 percent of raw water from Ipo Dam entitled to it.
