BI backs Naia rationalization plan for better service

/ 05:01 AM April 16, 2018

The Bureau of Immigration supports the rationalization scheme of the Manila International Airport Authority, saying it will help further improve its services to travelers.

“We are confident that with this scheme, our immigration officers will be able to perform their jobs of conducting immigration formalities for international travelers more efficiently,” Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said.

Under the rationalization plan, Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals 1 and 3 will be used exclusively for international flights while Terminals 2 and 4 will be assigned to domestic flights.

Airlines were given six months to comply with the directive. Morente stressed that this would make it easier for the BI to determine the deployment of its personnel based on the needs of each of the different terminals. —Julie M. Aurelio
