Thunderstorm alert up in Metro Manila, nearby towns – Pagasa

The state weather bureau on Tuesday afternoon has issued a thunderstorm advisory for some parts of Metro Manila and in nearby provinces.

Covered by the thunderstorm advisory are Quezon City, San Juan and North Caloocan for Metro Manila, Laguna (Los Baños, Calauan, Alaminos, San Pablo), Nueva Ecija (Palayan City, Laur) and portions of Quezon province.

In its thunderstorm advisory issued at 2:32 p.m., heavy rains with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are to be expected in the said areas.

The same weather condition is also expected over Bulacan, Batangas, Cavite, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Rizal and Bataan over the next two hours.

The public is advised to take precautionary measures against possible impacts which include flashfloods and landslides.   /muf
