Cloudy with scattered rain on Sunday

The Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Central and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, the weather bureau said in its Sunday morning forecast.

The northeast monsoon, or amihan, will continue to affect the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 4 a.m. bulletin.

Amihan will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.

It will likewise bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain over the Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon, Pagasa added.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.

The weather bureau said strong to gale northeast winds would prevail over the Northern and Central Luzon and the eastern section of Southern Luzon, with rough to very rough coastal waters.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong east to northeast winds will prevail over Visayas, eastern section of Mindanao and the rest of Luzon. The coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Mindanao, it added, would experience light to moderate east to northeast winds, with slight to moderate coastal waters. /cbb
