The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will simulate the May 14 village and youth council elections at a school in Manila to test the commission’s preparedness.
The simulation is scheduled for April 21 at Rosauro Almario Elementary School in Tondo.
“Actual voters” would participate in the simulation, according to Teopisto Elnas Jr., director of the Comelec’s Election and Barangay Affairs Department.
He said since the May 14 elections would be the first for youths since 2015 “the commission is looking to address the confusion that may arise due to 18- to 30-year-old voters being given two ballots to fill out” since they would have to vote for officials of village governments and members of youth councils. —Tina G.
