BOC official accused of accepting bribes named asst commissioner
Former customs district collector Vincent Philip Maronilla, who was previously identified by Customs fixer Mark Taguba as among those who received bribes to facilitate his shipment, has been appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as assistant commissioner of the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
President Duterte signed the appointment of Maronilla on April 3.

Maronilla previously worked as a Customs collector of the Manila International Container Port (MICP) before he was appointed as district collector of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia).
Maronilla will replace Ariel Nepomuceno who resigned from his post in March this year.
Taguba, on the other hand, is facing a case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act for the shipment of P6.4 billion worth of shabu. /je
