5 alleged drug pushers busted in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – Operatives have arrested five suspected drug pushers in separate buy-bust operations in Quezon province on Tuesday.

Quezon police director Sr. Supt. Rhoderick Armamento also said that close to seven grams of crystal meth or shabu worth P42,000 in the street market were confiscated in the two anti-illegal drugs operations.

In Lucena City, authorities collared Rachelle Encina, 20; Renante Reyes Jr., 28; and Michael Quiozon, 23, after they sold shabu to an undercover police around 10:45 p.m. in Barangay Dalahican.

Recovered from them were five grams of shabu placed in four plastic sachets.

According to police, drug surrenderers and members of the police Community Mobilization Program tagged the three suspects as newly identified drug peddlers in the coastal village with dockworkers, tricycle drivers, and fishermen as clients.

In the buy-bust operation in Candelaria town, operatives arrested Charito Lat, 48, and Ma. Cristina Magnaye, 57. Recovered from the two suspects was 1.95 grams of shabu.

Police said Magnaye was previously arrested on drug charges, and that both have been in the government’s drug watch list.                        /kga
