PNP engages personnel to sports, music programs

The Philippine National Police (PNP) launched on Tuesday its summer program that would ensure the well-being and enhance the music skills of police personnel.

Together with other officials and police officers, PNP Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa opened the Summer Sports Training and Recreational Program of the PNP with a theme: “Sports at Musika Handog ng Kapulisan Upang Droga ay Maiwasan.”

Dela Rosa said that the summer program aims “to promote their overall development ensuring the total well-being, health, and fitness of uniformed and non-uniformed personnel and their dependents based at the national headquarters.”

The training program of the PNP offers 15 different sports discipline namely: Aikido, Arnis, Badminton, Dance sports, Basketball, Boxing, Chess, Judo, Karatedo, Muay Thai, Lawn Tennis, Swimming, Table Tennis, Swimming for Persons with Disability (PWD), and Taekwondo.

Lessons on musical instruments such as saxophone, guitar, keyboard, flute, clarinet, drums, trumpet, and trombone were also offered during the program, Dela Rosa said.

He noted that no registration fee was required to be included in the summer program. /jpv
