The Department of Tourism (DOT) has signed an agreement with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Philippines to become the agency’s “knowledge partner” for the purpose of encouraging tourism investments in the Philippines.
In a statement, the DOT said the memorandum of understating (MOU) signed with PwC included the sharing of information, expertise and technical assistance, organizing and undertaking activities to improve investment-readiness and attractiveness.
Tourism undersecretary Alma Rita Jimenez and PwC Philippines chair, Alexander Cabrera, signed the MOU last March 22.
“Part of our mandate is to boost investments in the country and through this partnership we are able to create a platform where people can take a look at investment prospects in tourism. It helps also that we partnered with an independent and credible partner,” the DOT statement quoted Jimenez as saying. —Jerome Aning
