Remain hopeful and welcome beginnings in life, two senators said on Sunday as they joined the country in celebrating Christ’s resurrection.
Senator Sonny Angara reminded the public to never lose hope in life no matter how huge the problem that they are facing.
“The timeless message of Easter is about hope. It reminds us that hope must never be lost for as dark as the road may seem, there lies light at the end of it,” Angara said in his Easter message.
“Easter teaches us to never lose hope and to appreciate and welcome new beginnings. It also teaches us the true meaning of faith and what it is to feel the Lord’s blessings in our lives,” he added.
Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, meanwhile, underscored the importance of democracy and hope in the lives of the people working for their families.
“Are widows and orphaned mothers coping after the murders of their family’s breadwinners? Are our young people free to reach their full potential? Are our farmers’ incomes equal to their efforts? Are our fishers able to enjoy the bounty of our seas?
“Today is Easter Sunday, symbol of the start of spring, of plenty, of hope. ‘Yes’ to all these questions is our prayer and our work,” Pangilinan said in another statement. /je
