Robredo’s Easter message: Unite and fight for everyone’s rights

In celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, Vice President Leni Robredo urged the public to unite as one amidst the problems testing the nation.

In her Easter message, Robredo highlighted the importance of being a united country and urged the public to stand up for their rights.

“Magkakaiba man ang ating pinaggagalingan, magkakasalungat man ang ating paniniwala, naniniwala ako na mas malakas pa rin ang puwersa na nagbibigkis sa atin kaysa sa puwersang humahati sa ating bayan,” Robredo said in a statement.

[We may come from different backgrounds, we may have opposing beliefs, but I believe the force that binds is stronger than the force that divides us as a nation.]

“Sa panahon kung saan tila sinisiil ang demokrasya, sama-sama tayong tumindig at ipagtanggol ang karapatan ng bawat isa. Kapag tayo ay iisa, anumang kalbaryo ay kaya nating malampasan,” she said.

[At this time when its seems democracy is being suppresed, let’s all stand up as one and defend each other’s rights. When we are united, we can overcome any suffering.]

Robredo added that Jesus’ resurrection would be a reminder that goodness and truth would always prevail over everything.

“Ang tagumpay ng ating Panginoon laban sa kamatayan ay isang mahalagang paalala – na sa dulo ng lahat, mangingibabaw ang katotohanan, at ang mabuti ay siyang laging mananaig,” Robredo said.

[The triumph of our Lord over death serves as a reminder – that at the end of it all, truth will persist and the good will prevail.] /atm
