A magnitude 2.4 earthquake rocked Surigao del Norte on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to Phivolcs, the quake was recorded at 2:25 p.m. west of Surigao City, which also experienced an intensity 3 tremor.
The tremor had a depth of 31 kilometers and was of tectonic origin.
Phivolcs reported no damages with aftershocks not to be expected. /muf
