It will be half-day work for the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals on Holy Wednesday, March 28, Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio has declared.

This was the announcement of the high court’s Public Information Office (PIO), which also clarified on Tuesday that only the local courts in the city of Manila would have no work on March 28 as declared by Mayor Joseph Estrada.

The SC also said that half-day work would likewise be in effect for the Sandiganbayan and the Court of Tax Appeals on Holy Wednesday, as it stressed that other local courts nationwide could refer to the announcements of the local government units covering their respective jurisdictions.

According to the SC, “courts located in cities and municipalities where the local government declared a whole-day suspension of work will observe the whole-day suspension, as the court houses are housed in local government-owned or controlled buildings.”                /kga
