The House of Representatives’ appropriations committee has approved the funding provisions of the measure seeking to quadruple the monthly pension of Filipino war veterans.

The bill, authored by Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman aims to increase the “old age pension” to P20,000, from the current P5,000.

The bill covers veterans of World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War who are not eligible to receive any pension from the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
