Marikina cops nab robbery suspect in drug bust

The Marikina City Police on Saturday arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation one of the men that pulled off an armed robbery at the Mabuhay Manor Hotel in Pasay City last Jan. 2.

Based on the report from the Marikina City Police and its Station Drug Enforcement Unite (SDEU), a certain Rene Cachila, 24. admitted that he was involved in the robbery, in which he and his cohorts took some P4-million in cash and valuables from hotel guests.

Cachila identified a certain Ramoncity Calilap as the mastermind.

Calilap was arrested last March 19 for gun running. He identified another companion as a certain alias Mark.

Also arrested in the buy-bust operation, which was conducted on Atis Street in Barangay Nangka, Marikina, were Ricky Cachila, 31, and Sophia Dumdum, 27.

Authorities confiscated five pieaces of heat-sealed transparent plastic containing suspected “shabu” (crystal meth). /atm
