Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio on Friday has made public a certification from the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) that he has submitted a complete copy of Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Networth (SALN) when he applied for the Chief Justice post in 2012.

Based on the certification from the JBC, Carpio has submitted a total of 14 documents, which was more than the 10 SALNs required by the JBC.

The certification signed by Court Attorney IV Jenifer M. Cabrillo-Salvador and noted by retired Associate Justice Jose Catral Mendo, now JBC Executive Committee Chairperson, stated that they have on file electronic copies of Carpio’s 1992 to 1994 SALNs.

The certification further noted that it has in its possession the photocopies of the 2001 to 2011 declarations of Carpio’s assets.

Sereno, in her comment to the quo warranto petition, mentioned Carpio as among those “who had likewise failed to submit to the JBC one or some of their SALNs and has also benefitted when the JBC relaxed the rules on SALN requirement.
