Army, Reds clash in Abra
BAYOMBONG, NUEVA VIZCAYA—Army troops on Wednesday (Mar. 21) clashed with suspected New People’s Army rebels in the remote town of Boliney in Abra province, but no one was hurt.
A report says the 24th Infantry Battalion engaged an undetermined number of armed men in Barangay (village) Upper Poblacion at 9:50 a.m.
The clash lasted for about 10 minutes, said 1st Lieutenant Catherine Hapin, chief of public affairs office of the 7th Infantry Division.
