The operator of the digital billboard in Makati has called the showing of the pornographic video as a “malicious attack.”
Globaltronics said on Tuesday that the incident was not only an attack against the company but also to other digital media platforms.
It said that the company had already complied with the call of the Makati City government to shut down the billboard and said that it filed a report before the Makati City police regarding the incident.
“The company is fully cooperating with the city government in seeking justice for this malicious attack, not only to Globaltronics but possibly to all similar digital media platforms,” Globaltronics said in a statement.
“In parallel, we have already filed a police report in the City of Makati, and will be filing a similar report as of this writing to the PNP (Philippine National Police) Cybercrime division to seek help bringing the perpetrators to justice,” it added.
Earlier, Makati Mayor Abby Binay ordered Globaltronics to stop operations following the broadcast of a pornographic material.
“Upon being informed of reports of inappropriate images being shown on the billboard located at Sen Gil Puyat Ave. corner Makati Ave., Mayor Abby Binay immediately ordered the owner of the billboard to cease and desist from operations last night. The operator immediately complied with the order,” Atty. Maribert Pagente, head of the city’s Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), said. /je
