Wife tips off cops about Cagayan kidnapping of 6-year-old boy
TUGUEGARAO CITY-Three men were charged on Monday (Mar. 19) for the kidnapping of a six-year-old boy in Solana town in Cagayan province, thanks to a tip provided by one of the suspect’s wife, police said on Tuesday (Mar. 20).
Junjun Paragas, Manuel Orpilla, and Noel Villaroza were arrested for the March 14 abduction of Sean Kurt Beran.
The boy was abandoned by his captors in front of the provincial capitol on Mar. 16 after they got wind of a tracking team deployed by the Police Anti-Kidnapping Group. The police caught the suspects on March 18.
Paragas’ wife, the boy’s aunt, had been suspicious about her husband’s behavior, said Chief Supt. Jose Mario Espino, Cagayan Valley police director at a press conference on Tuesday.
The wife found photographs and text messages about the boy’s abductions in her husband’s mobile telephone, prompting her to alert the police.
A fourth suspect, Eugene Alluvida of Alcala town in Cagayan, is still at large, said Chief Supt. Warren Tolito, Cagayan police director.
