Parts of the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) will undergo reblocking and repair works for 12 consecutive weekends, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised the motorists on Tuesday.
In an advisory, Jojo Garcia, acting general manager of MMDA, said that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will conduct road re-blocking and repairs starting on Friday, March 23, and will continue to the following weekends until June 4.
“Areas covered by the repairs are the stretch of Aurora Boulevard to P. Tuazon on the southbound side and Nepa Q-Mart to Kamuning area on the northbound side,” said Garcia.
“Based on agreed schedule, road repairs will only be done from Friday, 11 pm up to Monday, 5 am,” he added.
Despite this, Garcia assured the motorists that only one lane of Edsa would be affected by the road repair activities.
He also encouraged the motorists to take the Mabuhay Lanes and other alternative routes to avoid traffic along the stretch of Edsa.
“We always tell the public that any kind of obstruction will cause traffic on Edsa. This early we want the public to know about this road repair and maintenance work so they can plan their trips ahead,” Garcia said. /muf
