SolGen to represent CIDG in cases vs Espinosa, Lim

Solicitor General Jose Calida on Thursday announced that he will represent the Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) in the illegal drug cases against Peter Lim and Kerwin Espinosa.

In a statement published on Twitter, Calida said that he would serve as legal counsel of the PNP-CIDG whose illegal drug cases against Lim and Espinosa were dismissed by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

“As ‘Tribune of the People,’ the Solicitor General may act or represent the people before any court, tribunal, body or commission in any matter, action or proceeding which, in his opinion, affects the welfare of the people,” Calida said.
