Las Piñas blaze affects hundreds of families
A fire broke out early Wednesday in a residential area in Las Piñas City and displaced hundreds of families, the Southern Police District (SPD) and radio reports said.
Supt. Jenny Tecson, SPD spokesperson, said the blaze was still raging along Sampaguita Street, Pilar Village as of 6:30 a.m.
Radio reports said the fire started in adjacent Barangay Almanza Uno and had affected about 570 families in the two areas.
Tecson said that the fire started at 2:54 a.m. and reached the fifth alarm at 5:19 a.m.
Initial investigation showed that damage to property was estimated at around P1.5 million.
