The city of Roxas in Capiz province signed a memorandum of agreement with Quezon City to become sister cities. The sisterhood agreement sought to boost environmental management, trade and tourism between the two cities. Roxas, the capital of Capiz, is also the center of trade in the province.
March 16, 1992
The province of Sarangani was created by virtue of Republic Act 7228 signed by then President Corazon Aquino. The municipalities of Alabel, Glan, Maasim, Maitum, Malapatan, Malungon, and Kiamba were separated from the province of South Cotabato to form Sarangani. The town of Alabel was declared the province’s capital. Sarangani’s major industries include aquaculture, fishery, agriculture and tourism.
