For allegedly being overly addicted to pornography, one son got a lesson he will never forget from his father who was blinded by rage.
Forty-five-year-old butcher Mohammad Qayyum Qureshi of Hyderabad, India surrendered to police, admitting he chopped off his son’s right hand after a heated argument, The Hindustan Times reported on Tuesday.
After buying a smartphone, 18-year-old Mohammad Khalid Qureshi was warned several times by his father not to watch pornographic films in the device. On Sunday, the father caught his son doing the act and they argued about it. At one point, Khalid bit his father’s hand and left home, but got back in the middle of the night.
The next morning, both father and son argued about the issue again. This was when Qayyum, overcome by rage, picked up his butcher’s knife and chopped off his son’s hand.
Khalid was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors told his family members that the hand was “90 percent severed and the chances of restoring it are bleak,” police said.
Pahadishareef police inspector P Lakshmikanth Reddy said in the report that Qayyum has been booked and taken into custody. Katrina Hallare/JB
