CA confirms promotion of 8 lawmaker-reservists, 1 AFP senior officer

The powerful Commission on Appointments (CA) has confirmed the promotion of eight lawmaker-reservists to the next higher rank as well as the appointment of a senior officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Two of the promoted officials are Senators Loren Legarda and Manny Pacquiao.

CONFIRMED. Seven lawmaker-reservists and two senior officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines await the approval of their endorsements by the Commission on Appointments (CA) at the Senate of the Philippines in Pasay City on Wednesday, March 07, 2018. The six others belong to the House of Representatives: Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, Deputy Speaker Gwendolyn Garcia, House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas, Pangasinan Rep. Marlyn Primicias-Agabas, Cavite Rep. Roy Loyola, and Maguindanao Rep. Bai Sandra Sema.

The eight legislators were elevated from the rank of lieutenant colonel to the rank of colonel.

The CA also confirmed the promotion of another military official, Maj. Gen. Rene Glen Paje.      /kga
