Sereno sorry for snafu over ‘wellness leave’

Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno on Thursday apologized for the way her leave of absence was conveyed.

“It is unfortunate that my plan of making use of an already approved wellness leave in relation to an indefinite leave was inaccurately conveyed for which I apologize,” Sereno said in a statement issued Thursday, in response to the joint statement issued by her 13 colleagues from the Supreme Court.

In her statement, Sereno was firm she has not resigned and “will not resign,” adding that “this indefinite leave is not a resignation.”/ac
