Police arrest 5 in QC drug bust

Operatives from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested five drug suspects during a buy-bust operation.

The QCPD District Drug Enforcement Unit identified the suspects as Nonoy Burug, Anna Cruz, Jeffrey Cayabyab, Alfredo Abella, and Joris Moseros.

Seized from the suspects were 29 sachets of shabu with a weight of 15 grams and street value of 75,000, Radyo Inquirer 990 AM reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, the suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation in UP Bliss, Barangay Botocan, Quezon City.

Abella had earlier been detained for illegal drugs and had admitted that he was a “user”, the report said.

Barangay Botocan official Randy Brien said that the suspects early surrendered in the Oplan Tokhang campaign of the government.

However, they all remained on the city drug watchlist after they continued to use illegal narcotics, report said.

All suspects will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /cbb
