2 hurt as fire razes 50 houses, toy warehouse in Pasig City
Two people were hurt while around 100 families became homeless after a fire which raged for nearly 14 hours destroyed 50 houses and a toy warehouse in Pasig City.
A report to city fire marshal, Supt. Arturo Marcos, said the blaze which reached the fifth alarm started around 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Rich Prime Global Warehouse on Westbank Road Floodway, Barangay Rosario.
It was not put out until 8:52 a.m. the following day.
According to Marcos, it took them almost 14 hours to put out the fire because of the narrow alleys in the area.
At least 45 fire trucks responded to the call for help.
None of the residents were killed although two men identified as Rene Cano and Alvin Guenarra were treated for lacerations.
