Star City ride malfunctions; affects 10 park goers

An amusement park ride in Pasay City suffered an electrical malfunction on Saturday, affecting about 10 riders.

The Star Flyer attraction of Star City came to a stop in the middle of its hanging tracks for about 15 minutes after the electricity fluctuated at 3:20 p.m, Radyo Inquirer 990 AM reported.

In order to troubleshoot the problem, the management of Star City had to send out another personnel to fix the malfunction, the radio report said.

Affected passengers who were brought down to safety were immediately given assistance, including bottles of drinking water, by the first-aid team.

The Star City responding personnel also conducted routine medical checkup of the passengers to ensure their safety and health conditions.

The Star Flyer ride is one of the outdoor attractions of Star City and one of the main rides in the theme park.

The Star City management has yet to issue an official statement on the incident as the theme park personnel addressed first the concern and safety of the riders and visitors.
