Tropical Depression “Basyang” further weakened ahead of its expected landfall over Bohol, the state weather bureau said Tuesday afternoon.
The tropical cyclone had maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 65 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Signal No. 1 was raised over Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo groups of islands, Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Bohol, Cebu, Biliran, Leyte, and Southern Leyte, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, and northern section of Zamboanga del Norte.

Basyang moved west northwest at 27 kph, and was last spotted 25 kilometers southeast of Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Pagasa said it is expected to make its third landfall over Palawan on Wednesday.
Palawan and Visayas will have scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains in the next 24 hours.
Scattered light to moderate with at times heavy rains are expected over Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and the provinces of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi. /je
