Flights canceled as ‘Basyang’ makes landfall in Surigao
Local carriers canceled several flights on Tuesday due to Tropical Storm “Basyang,” airport authorities said.
The Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) said that as of 9 a.m. the following flights were cancelled:
2P 2967 Manila – Butuan
2P 2968 Butuan – Manila
2P 2557 Manila – Dipolog
2P 2558 Dipolog – Manila
2P 2521 Manila – Dipolog
2P 2522 Dipolog – Manila
Cebu Pacific Air
5J 621 Manila – Tagbilaran
5J 622 Tagbilaran – Manila
5J 373 Manila – Roxas
5J 703 Manila – Cagayan
5J 704 Cagayan – Manila
M8 421 Manila – Siargao
M8 422 Siargao – Manila
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Basyang made landfall at Cortes, Surigao del Sur, at 9:15 a.m.
Basyang has a maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph, Pagasa said.
Local governments in Visayas and Mindanao have already declared class suspensions for Tuesday. /cbb
