2 collared for possession of illegal drugs, gun in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested two suspected drug pushers in separate operations in Candelaria town in Quezon province Sunday night, police said.

Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento, chief of the Quezon Police Provincial Office, said one of the arrested suspects, Resty Beredo, 24, was also found carrying an
unlicensed .45-caliber pistol with live bullets after the buy-bust operation in Barangay Malabanban Norte around 11:30 p.m.

Beredo also yielded a sachet of crystal meth, or “shabu,” that was worth P1,628 in the street market as well as the P500 marked money used in the transaction.

Earlier, the Drug Enforcement Unit arrested Jaypee de Ocampo, 19, in another buy-bust in the same village.
