MPD to deploy 1,200 cops to secure Binondo, Divisoria for CNY 2018

The Manila Police District (MPD) will deploy 1,200 policemen on Friday to secure this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations in Binondo and Divisoria in Manila.

MPD Director Chief Supt. Joel Coronel also said that K-9 units and operatives of the city police’s Explosive and Ordnance Division will likewise be deployed in those areas.

Meanwhile, Coronel said that before the Chinese New Year festivities, the Manila policemen are set to secure churches in the country’s capital on Wednesday in anticipation of mass and recollections to be held in observance of Ash Wednesday.
