Cainta police deputy chief killed in anti-drug ops

The deputy chief of the Cainta police was killed, following a gun fight with alleged drug suspects on Sunday night.

Cainta police Chief Reynaldo Rosero identified the fatality as Sr. Insp. Jimmy Senosin, who was shot in the head during a police operation at Floodway in Cainta, a radio report over dzMM said on Monday.

According to Rosero, a concerned citizen alerted the Cainta police about armed men in Floodway on Sunday evening. Senosin subsequently led police operatives to the area to verify the report. However, upon arriving at the area, the suspects allegedly fired at the responding policemen resulting to the gun fight.

A grenade was even reportedly hurled at the law enforcers, Rosero said.
