LEGAZPI CITY — Former actor Cesar Montano, now chief operations officer of the Tourism Promotions Board, and some of his actor friends turned over thousands of live chickens and eggs to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Bicol for residents who were displaced by Mount Mayon’s restiveness in Albay on Saturday.

Montano, along with Noel De Luna, chairman of SND Charities Foundation, and fellow actors Bayani Agbayani and Epi Quizon turned over 10,000 live chickens and 10,000 eggs to OCD Bicol Director Claudio Yucot.

Montano said extending some assistance to thousands of Mayon evacuees is their way of sharing their blessings.

“We can feel their needs. This is our simplest gesture to help them,” he said.

He also said he decided to visit the evacuees to boost their morale.

He would also encourage some of his colleagues in showbiz to help the displaced families.
