Pagasa spots LPA off Surigao City
A low pressure area (LPA) was sighted east of Surigao del Norte as the northeast monsoon or hanging amihan continues to affect parts of Northern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa noted that the LPA located 420 kilometers east of Surigao City would likely bring cloudy skies with scattered rain in the area.
The northeast monsoon would as well cause overcast skies and scattered rain or isolated rain over the regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, and Ilocos.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said that due to localized thunderstorms, Metro Manila and the rest of the country would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain this Saturday. /kga
